UNO's Study Abroad Program Wins 2024 Ideas Grant

UNO's Study Abroad Program Gets 2024 Ideas Grant

The University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO) has made an announcement. It said it has earned the 2024 IDEAS Grant. The Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) and the IDEAS (Increase and Diversify Education Abroad for U.S. Students) Grant program gave this award. They are helping UNO make better its global plans.

The "Education Abroad Inclusion Plan" of UNO has got the grant. The plan aims to make education abroad accessible and inclusive. This plan aims to help more students have experiences abroad.

The CIEE is a nonprofit making efforts to create and offer people international study programs. CIEE and the IDEAS Grants Program partnership was found to help create a bigger and more diverse group of students who study abroad.

Students of UNO now have a better chance to study abroad. They get more support and aid to take part in UNO’s study abroad programs. This helps them gain world knowledge and develop global skills. The grant also makes these opportunities more accessible to a wider range of students.

"We are committed to helping all our students have the opportunity to study abroad," says Lucy Morrison, UNO's Associate Vice Chancellor for Global Engagement. "This grant strengthens our efforts to provide these opportunities to more students."

UNO is working hard to boost its study abroad programs. This grant will assist in offering a diversity of curricular options, student support services, and financial aid options. This is so even more students can have a shot at studying abroad.

The grant will help students from different groups broaden their global perspectives. These groups include students with disabilities, students from diverse backgrounds, and students studying in academic areas that typically do not have many options to study abroad.

This grant is a step in right direction in UNO's mission to promote inclusive global education. It applauds the university for its impressive work and supports it in its efforts to expand global education opportunities.
